Lg refrigerator french door ice maker will not dump ice.

Funny thing about this is that i can t figure out how the mechanism knows when the bucket is full of ice and to therefore stop dumping ice.

Could also be the tempature isn t cold enough.
If i press and hold the reset button on the bottom of the icemaker only while the tray is moving then it will dump the ice return to the proper position and fill with water as it should.
But if you ve noticed ice cream is softer or the milk taste bad than your problem isn t in the ice maker.
If your having to press the reset every time to get the ice to drop it could be the ice maker sensor.
